March 13

1:37 a.m. – Constable initiated a traffic stop and arrested the driver for driving on a suspended license.

11:57 a.m. – Witness told ESPD there was a person on the roof of a B&B who appeared to be trying to get in a window. Constable discovered the person was cleaning the gutters.

5:30 p.m. – Another call about a person who appeared to be trying to break into an upstairs apartment downtown. Constable learned it was the renter trying to get in.

6:40 p.m. – A male and female were fighting in a neighborhood near downtown. One of them was arrested and taken to the station.

March 14

8:03 a.m. – Motel employee accidentally triggered an alarm.

3:30 p.m. – Constables responded to a disturbance on Main Street and got things under control.

3:55 p.m. – Individual came to the station to report a theft of mail.

5:50 p.m. – Constable checked on a building after the alarm was set off, but he found everything okay.

7:53 p.m. – Customer caused damage to the restroom of a motel. Constable arrested him on an outstanding CCSO warrant.

March 15

7:37 a.m. – A dog with a leash was running loose through a neighborhood, and Animal Control never encountered it.

1 p.m. – Motorist going north on Hwy. 23 South was following a truck pulling a trailer when a piece of glass flew off and hit the vehicle. Constables watched for the truck and trailer to no avail.

2:35 p.m. – Unclaimed dog with a leash was sitting on a porch in a neighborhood growling at other dogs being walked nearby. Animal Control picked up the growler and took it to the kennel.

4:22 p.m. – Constables went to the middle school to have a word with a student.

9:51 p.m. – Constables assisted EMS.

10 p.m. – Individual was passed out in the lobby of an apartment complex. Constable and EMS responded. Individual was transported to ESH.

March 16

8:50 a.m. – Resident in a neighborhood just west of downtown claimed someone came into her apartment without her permission or knowledge. Constable took a report.

9:42 a.m. – Individual told ESPD she left her wallet in a taxi and subsequently saw charges on her credit cards before she could cancel them. Staff at taxi company said they knew nothing about her wallet. Constable filed another report.

11:13 a.m. – Semi stalled at a busy intersection. Constable performed traffic control until a tow truck moved the semi.

1:05 p.m. – Resident from just north of downtown told ESPD someone stole his motorcycle during the week. Constable entered the bike into the national database.

4 p.m. – Person came to the station to make a report of an earlier accident.

4:35 p.m. – Constable performed a citizen assist.

5 p.m. – Someone reported transients had left trash in a vacant building. Constable went to the scene but there nothing to report.

5:53 p.m. – Constables responded to the location of an unattended death.

9:04 p.m. – Constable went to assist with a stalled motorist, but the tow truck was already there.

10:20 p.m. – There was a minor traffic accident downtown.

11:15 p.m. – A noise complaint came from a neighborhood east of downtown. Resident working on his car told the constable he would be quieter.

11:18 p.m. – Smoke detector sang out in a house being remodeled, but the constable found everything okay.

March 17

2:03 a.m. – Traffic stop resulted in the arrest of the driver for DWI and careless driving/speeding.

3:06 p.m. – Someone complained about the music at a bar downtown, but the constable determined the volume was within legal limits.

3:35 p.m. – Constable provided traffic control while a tow truck did its job at a location on US 62.

4 p.m. – Constable went to a location downtown to check on found property. Constable found the owner, and property and owner were reunited.

4:51 p.m. – Alarm rang out at a business on US 62, and the constable found the door open. Building checked out secure and the keyholder was notified about the door.

5:26 p.m. – Vehicle blocked a driveway in the north part of town. Constable found the vehicle owner who found a new parking place.

6:06 p.m. – Constable was called to assist EMS.

8:10 p.m. – There was an accident on US 62. Information was exchanged before the constable arrived.

11:33 p.m. – Constable searched for a suspicious person in a neighborhood west of downtown, but he did not encounter anyone.

March 18

12:46 a.m. – There was a domestic incident on Main Street. Constable intervened, and individuals agreed to stay in separate motels for the night.

1:01 a.m. – Daughter asked for assistance finding her father who had walked away toward downtown. Constable found him and returned him to the daughter.

1:28 a.m. – Constable went to a motel to speak with a husband who claimed his wife drove away after they had argued. Constable looked for but did not find encounter her vehicle.

2:51 a.m. – Camper at the Lake Leatherwood City Park campground asked for a constable to speak with her father regarding an issue. Constables complied.

12:14 p.m. – Another minor traffic accident downtown.

March 19

12:51 a.m. – A couple was reported to be acting suspicious at a business in the commercial area of US 62. Constable arrested both of them for public intoxication.
