The warm weather has been nothing short of wonderful. Begone Old Man Winter! Eureka Spring is back. Not my best work with that one-liner but I’ll keep working on it. It’s the weekend before St. Paddy’s which if that isn’t an excuse to go to your favorite watering hole and put on all the green in your closet than I don’t know what is. I am sad to say that TBD will not be playing at Chelsea’s this weekend but instead we have groups far better! Ted says TBD is an amazing band but I’m not entirely sure I agree. Eureka Strings is back at Chelsea’s at 10 p.m. with their amazing jam grass ready to get your toe tapping. Lonesome Narrows plays just before at 8 p.m. and aren’t to be missed. Nothing like good folk music to go with a good beer, right? While you are downtown on Saturday take a look at the decorations on Spring Street. Shopkeeps plan on decorating for the holiday. Join in the social media costume contest if it suits your fancy and show off just how Irish you are. From 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. take a pic of yourself and friends in front of a downtown shop in St Patrick’s Day garb and post the photo on Instagram and Facebook. Add the hashtags #eurekasprings AND #stpatseureka. Downtown merchants will be voting on their favorite and you could win $100 cash!~ ~j
