And we’re back

Our little break felt all too short and I was not prepared for it to be over. Deviating a bit to start this year, I’m talking about a band I’ve been listening to. I just finished watching season 2 of The Witcher and I love one of the actor’s voice. Lo and behold he’s part of a band called The Amazing Devil and I enjoyed them so much I had to listen to all three albums in one sitting. The band is made of Joey Batey and Madeleine Hyland and is lyrical alt-folk. They’ve got everything from gentle-rolling tunes you can sway with to songs you can belt at the top of your lungs in a way (paraphrasing a line from their song “Farewell Wanderlust”) that becomes less like singing and more screaming in tune. It was a stress-filled holiday so screaming out of tune has become a staple of my drives. Until next week   ~j
