Wilde thing, I think I love you

Ever heard of an Iraqi-born Canadian folk singer? Thanks to Chelsea’s, we’ll have have the best right here Saturday from 2-5 p.m. Winona Wilde is the stage name for Noosa Al-Sarraj, who developed a love of country music from one of her nannies. With songwriting skills that have earned several awards, including the 2017 Kerrville Folk Festival’s “New Folk” award, she’s touring her third album Wasted Time. The feminist anthem “Chick Singer” is catchy, honest and real, she gives space to the unheard. Peter Ellam of Exclaim said, “Over simple, well-worn chords, Wilde’s voice sounds weary and wise, and yet still full of life. Her storytelling binds together personal experience and political ideas in relatable ways, the way only the best songwriting can.” She’ll perform on the patio, so grab a drink and some fresh air while listening to new, active music.
