Who’s in charge?

Many citizens traveling north on US Highway 65 from Conway, Arkansas, to Carroll County have been experiencing travel delays in excess of an hour due to wide loads delivering components for the Nimbus Wind Farm under construction in Carroll County.

I have recently been advised of ACA 27-35-213, an Arkansas State Law that limits the length of time the highways, streets, etc., may be halted or stopped is three minutes!

Now – will the law be enforced? Or will law enforcement officials attempt to pass the buck, saying “this is not within my authority?”

I have been in conversation Major Batson, Permitting Officer for the Arkansas Highway Police, at approx. 3:50 p.m. on [Tuesday] September 16, 2025, and all law enforcement officers in Arkansas can, and should, enforce all state laws.

  1. Richard, do you just keep coming up with more and more BS ?

I just tried to look that code up and apparently it’s nonexistent or you made a typo

    • Kevin, I verified access….just to be certain.

      Enter: arkansas aca 27-35-213

Immediately available is the “AI” statement

If you scroll down other readings of the Code are available:

Justia Law…Findlaw…Arkansas Secretary of State…Arkansas Department of Transportation
(ARDOT)…FYI…the Arkansas Highway Police is the Law Enforcement Division of ARDOT.

      Thank you.
