Editor,
Once again, for the seventh year in a row, Eureka Springs has honored all our country’s veterans with several events that started with the Marine Birthday Ball/Military Bash on Thursday night, 11/10, & culminated with the 6th annual Bragging Rights hamburger cook-off on Monday. The parade on Friday, 11/11, the Gun Salute at 11:11 and the luncheon/meet & greet following was very well attended by both veterans and loved ones and viewers giving thanks.
This year’s restaurants donating tons of food for the luncheon: Rockin’ Pig, Myrtie Mae’s, Sweet ‘n Savory, Pied Piper/Cat House, Bubba’s BBQ, Forest Hill, Sparky’s, Local Flavor, Innconvenience Store, Pizza Hut, DeVito’s & Cravings Bakery (who also donated the Marine cake the night before).
As we’ve done every year, the leftovers were divided and boxed up for further donation to the Police Dept., the Fire Dept. and Flint Street food kitchen.
We just want to say thank you to everyone who helped in any & all ways, thank you restaurant owners for your contributions, & mostly… thank you veterans for our freedom! Without you, we have nothing!
