Alt at the Aud is a new concert series presented in the GEM event center in the basement of our historic City Auditorium. Alt got its start in the ‘80s and became wildly popular in the ‘90s, and even more so now. With all ages welcome and some great indie rock outfits scheduled throughout the summer, the younger crowd in Eureka Springs will have a chance to experience the live, independent music scene. The first show is Friday night and features two acts, Me Like Bees and Ghost Bones.
Me Like Bees is an indie rock band from Joplin that has already released a full-length album, won a few awards and played a leg of Van’s Warped Tour. The Bees Bois have taken their high-energy rock across the nation touring and continuing to release new songs.
Ghost Bones hails from Hot Springs and won the 2015 Arkansas Times Music Showcase with their dark post-punk sound. One judge trying to describe them said, “This band is for throwing TVs out of three-story windows…” Good thing they’re performing in the basement. The show is Friday from 8-11 p.m. with tickets available at the door for $10.
