This Week’s Independent Thinker

Ann Carolyn Telnaes is one of few freelancers who has won a Pulitzer Prize for editorial cartooning. She’s Swedish by birth, American by education and naturalization, and aimed true in her viewpoint.

She was an editorial cartoonist at The Washington Post until she quit last week when she was censored by her editor. You know what they say – you gotta do what the man signing the check says you gotta do.

Except, no you don’t. You’ve got to do what you feel in the middle of your heart.

The Washington Post claims that their judgment was not a malign force. Telnaes’s cartoon depicts WaPo owner Jeff Bezos, Los Angeles Times publisher Patrick Soon-Shiong, Mark Zuckerberg who owns a big face company, OpenAI CEO Sam Altman, and Mickey Mouse bowing and scraping before the president-elect.

These men (not the mouse) want fewer regulations on the environmental damage they accelerate and unlimited government favors in return for their unseemly donations, bribes, whatever, to the highest government official in our land.

We want Ann Telnaes on our staff. We’d keep Wolf, too.

Yowza.
