Hamp Kennedy shows a gorgeous 23-in. brown trout that was safely released.

Beaver Tailwaters report:

Since the last report, we’ve had some pretty nice fish that have been caught. Not only am I seeing fish over 18 inches, but we are also putting some decent numbers in the boat, as well. Just to give you an example, a very nice 23-in. 4.8-pound brown trout was caught by this gentleman this past week.

I am also seeing folks catching 18-in. rainbows from the bank. So even with the high water, there are still fish to be caught. The tricky thing is, if the Corps is flowing, it may make it difficult to fish from the shore.

There are still some walleye to be had. Trolling crankbaits, getting them down deep has been the preferred method. With the trout, you just have to work through the colors and patterns to find out what they want to chase at the time. The weatherman is calling for more rain in the upcoming week, so I guess we will see what happens.

Remember for additional updates follow my Facebook page, I’m pretty much on the water every week. Feel free to message me if you have any questions. Take care, get out and catch some fish!

Hooked on Fishing Guide Service, Beaver Lake report:

Striper fishing has been good on main lake points. Top water had been good early and late evening on cloudy days. The top water action has been consistent for the last three weeks. Once the top water bite is done, pulling live bait has been the most productive. Thirty to 100 feet-of-water has been holding stripers and other game fish.

Some stripers/whites are still being caught up the rivers as the water is clearing after the recent rains. Crappie are scattered on flats in 10 to 20 f-o-w. Brush piles and docks are holding fish, too. Water temps low 70s. This time last year the water temps were higher, but with the lake level and storms it’s taking a bit longer to warm up and a thermocline to set in. It’s just a matter of time.
