Beaver Tailwaters report:

Well, we didn’t get all the rain that was forecasted, be we definitely got enough. Looking at the future forecast, the weatherman is saying we’ve got another 4 inches heading this way during the first week of June. Hopefully, that is not the case.

The Corps has significantly slowed the flow of water this past weekend, which allowed for a little better conditions. Now, the water is still very high, but as long as the river isn’t flowing over 10,000 cubic feet per second, you should be able to catch some fish.

We focused a lot of our time above Houseman Access. Using Pautzke Fire eggs and bait, fished on bottom, has produced nice numbers. You may also see some grass carp and spotted gar in the area as well. Walleye can still be caught, trolling hard crankbaits. You just have to cover a bunch of water. As things hopefully improve over the next couple of weeks, I should have a little more information for you.

For additional updates follow my Facebook page, Busch Mountain Fishing Guide Service for weekly updates. I’m pretty much on the water every week. Feel free to message me if you have any questions. Take care, get out and catch some fish!

Beaver Lake report:

Striper fishing has been good on main lake points. Top water had been good early and late evening on cloudy days. The top water action has been consistent for the last 3 weeks. Once the top water bite is done, pulling live bait is the most productive. 30 to 100 feet-of-water has been holding stripers and other game fish.

Some stripers/whites are still being caught up the rivers as the water is clearing up after the recent rains. Crappie are scattered on flats in 10 to 20 f-o-w. Brush piles and docks are holding fish, too. Water temps low 70s. This time last year the water temps were higher, but with the lake level and storms it’s taking a little bit longer to warm up and a thermocline to set in. It’s just a matter of time.
