Beaver Tailwaters:

The water temperatures are rising, and the fish are moving in. The week was a mixed bag. Trout have been real responsive to Pautzke Fire worms and Fire baits, fished with light terminal tackle. The fire worms have done best with drifting.

The walleye bite has been up and down as well, but it is improving. Trolling has produced nice numbers downstream from Houseman Access. Pulling mid-diving crank baits, coated in Pautzke Fire Gel, has been the preferred method. These mentioned methods have also produced some white bass as well!

The white bass have started to come up, and we have been definitely waiting on them! We got another shot of cold air coming in around April 1, hopefully this will be the last of it.  Beaver Lake report:

Striper fishing has been a little spotty with all the fronts and winds coming through. Some days are good and some days you’ll have to cover water. As soon as we get more consistent weather it’ll turn on again. Use your graphs to locate tight bait balls on flats close to the channel.

These stripers are getting on the flats to feed early in the morning or late evening and then they’ll swing back on the channels in deeper water. Live bait has been best, we are starting to see a few top water blowups early in the morning and late evening, too. Once you see that, turn your big motor off and work the area. Crappie fishing has been really good on open flats roaming and chasing bait. Matter of time before the head to the banks.
