Beaver Tailwaters report:

We were able to get out and couple times before this next batch of cold weather came in. We did have some decent days of warmer weather, which was a nice break. One thing that did not disappoint is catching trout on the White River. Chartreuse Fire Eggs along with garlic peach fire bait were the go-to baits for trout this past week. Jerk baits and soft plastics pulled in some very nice 25 + inch brown trout as well!

With rain forecasted for the next week, that will be a good time to pick up your rod and reel and get outside, when the water calms. When you see a rise in the water, reach for some fire worms. Rule of thumb: Gold spinners and spoons will work best when the sky is clear and sunny; change to silver-colored baits when fishing under overcast skies. Keep those in mind with these overcast days.

The walleye are starting to push up for the spawn. The bite has been off and on, with most being caught down towards Beaver Town and Holiday Island. Use your electronics to find the pods. Remember for follow my Facebook page (Busch Mountain Fishing Guide Service) for weekly updates.

Hooked on Fishing Guide Service, Beaver Lake:

Striper fishing has been a little tough after the last cold front. Fish moved since last week and they are moving looking for warmer water. Use your graph to locate bait with some bigger fish around them and don’t be afraid to look in deeper water.

Once you find some fish expect them to move after they feel the pressure so keep covering water to find the active fish. South end of the lake had a lot of thin ice on the surface but with these recent warm days that should all be thawed out now.

Crappie were not as active as last week with the cold-water temps on the south end, so you’ll have to slow down the presentation and give them some time to react to your baits. Brush piles and flats are all holding crappie. Water temps vary from 38° to 43° depending where you’re fishing on the lake.
