Beaver Tailwaters report:
With this latest shot of weather this week, that should turn on the bite in the tailwaters. Not saying that the tailwaters haven’t been producing, because they have. The issue has been the very low water levels and limited places to fish from a boat.
That is starting to improve. Most of our fish have been caught using Pautzke Fire eggs and Fire worms. Using light terminal tackle, fish the eggs on bottom and if able, drift the worms. Most of our fish have been caught near Houseman Access this week.
If you’re still searching for the walleye, Beaver town is the place to be, even up to Holiday Island. Using many methods, the best has been jigging soft plastics and live minnows. Look for these fish in 10-15 feet of water. Like always, for additional information, please follow my Facebook page for day-to-day updates. Stay warm and catch some fish!
Hooked on Fishing Guide Service, Beaver Lake report:
Striper fishing has been really productive since the last cold front, they are feeding heavy on shad and can be found mid-lake down to the river arms. Use your graph to find tight bait balls close to the channel, this often is an indication of fish working the bait when they are holding tight together.
Since the last snow the fish and bait have pushed a little deeper, closer to the channel in 6 –100 fow. Look for birds eating the scraps and leftovers from the stripers working the bait. You can find crappie on brushpiles or roaming chasing bait on flats 10–20 fow. On warm days the crappie will move shallower or higher in the water column as the sun warms up the surface a few degrees. Water temps are ranging 45° – 48°.
