The high cost of corruption

Editor,

If you were up early Monday morning, around 2 a.m., you could watch two corrupt leaders cheer each other with 110,000 other cheerers to accompany them.

The Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi, has created a government said to be “the most corrupt in the history of India … and its performance abysmal and deplorable” by Senior Congress leader Prithviraj Chavan. Modi praised Trump lavishly.

When it was Trump’s turn, he praised Modi even more lavishly.

Both leaders are considered to be anti-democratic as well as corrupt.

I wonder how much it cost taxpayers to join in the spectacle and fly Ivanka, her entourage, and Trump’s attendants to India for the show? Trump, I am sure, is hoping this kind of display will help him win the 2020 election.

Trump’s friends such as Modi, North Korea’s Kim Jae-ryong, and Putin show us what kind of man he is.
