Thanks for the memories

I do not know the future of Cara Sroges at this paper. If there is none, please know that I will deeply miss reading her article.

My wife died almost 6 years ago, and I closely followed Cara’s struggle with her experience. Mine very often mirrored hers.

Her observations on life in a small town and her attempts to remain sane in the present larger world have all been thoughtful and incisive.

While I do not live in Eureka Springs, I have owned a house there for some years (not a CUP) and always read the weekly papers.

My wife truly loved this place, and I spend as much time there as I can.

I don’t know Cara’s reasons for moving, but I have my suspicions. I hope she finds the peace and comfort she deserves.

I will mourn her lost presence in the community and her voice that speaks to it.

God speed, Cara Sroges.
