Steven Lee McMorrow Oct. 14, 1941 – March 13, 2022

Steven Lee McMorrow of Eureka Springs, Ark., was born October 14, 1941, in Holbrook, Mass., to Allen and Marguerite (Rayner) McMorrow. Steven passed away March 13, 2022, in Fayetteville at age 80.

Steven attended Holbrook High School, played baseball, basketball, and track, and graduated in 1959. Steven went into the Navy in 1960-1963 and was stationed aboard the USS Wasp out of Boston Harbor for a year-and-a-half, then stationed on shore duty at Port Lyautey in Morocco for the remainder of his service.

He started working construction with his grandfather and learning the trade in Massachusetts after the Navy. Steven then attended Suffolk University in Boston, earning a bachelor’s degree in History with a minor in Education.

Upon graduating, he taught junior high history for a year and then returned to construction. This eventually took him to San Diego, Calif., in the early 1970s, working construction and remodeling beach homes in the area for upscale customers.

This is where Steven met his wife and had his first child, then moved to Eureka Springs, Ark., in 1983 to build a home on Beaver Lake and further his family with a second child.

Steven continued to build a strong name for his construction business over the next 30+ years in Eureka Springs, along with coaching countless youth sports teams and raising his family.

Steven found a passion in being the man behind the microphone for the Eureka Springs Highlander basketball teams for many years.

Steven is survived by his sons Alan McMorrow and wife, Summer; Jake McMorrow; sister Andrea Pagnani and husband, Edward; nieces Kristin and Alison; along with other family members and friends.

He is preceded by his parents Allen and Marguerite McMorrow.
