Stamp Act?

363

Have you seen the Notice of Jury Summons letter for the county? What I find strange is the envelope that they send with the notice is not a prepaid envelope and it shows that the sender is the Circuit Clerk of the Eastern District, to the Clerk of the Western.

The letter states you have to respond in 7 days, but it puts the burden of the stamp on the taxpayer? That doesn’t make sense to me, having the taxpayer pay to have the county’s Notice of Jury Summons of that taxpayer, to be sent back to them, for the taxpayer’s civic duty.

When I posed the question to the Western District, they did say there was an internet option to fill out the questionnaire. My response was, not everyone has access to the internet. It just seems to me that the taxpayer should not have to pay to send a government letter, sent and requested by a government agency, back to the government. It just doesn’t make sense to me at all.
