The Parks Commission convened a workshop and special meeting Nov. 8, to decide what to do about the shuttle service for cyclists at the Lake Leatherwood City Park downhill trails. Director Justin Huss presented an agreement stating that from Nov. 9, 2018, through January 31, 2019, “Shuttlebug LLC will provide shuttle service for the Downhill Trail Project as per the approved plan and instruction of the Eureka Springs Parks and Recreation Commission as communicated by the Parks Director or Trail Manager.” Commissioners gave their approval.

Shuttlebug will be responsible for providing adequate insurance, properly securing the bicycles it transports and supervising drivers. Parks will be responsible for deciding when inclement weather would cancel shuttle service, managing the ticketing system and providing the trailer for the bikes.

Parks will pay $2100 per month for the service plus $13.50 per hour for a driver and provide a credit card for gas. Total allocation approved was $25,620.
