Shirley Annette Huffman Boehm March 6, 2022

401

Shirley Annette Huffman Boehm, daughter of Ernest Lafayette Huffman and Jennie Terhune Perkins Huffman, of Busch, Ark., passed away on March 6, 2022.  Though she lived in McKinney, Texas, in her later years, and always called Springfield, Mo., home, she would always say she was from Eureka Springs.

Shirley will be greatly missed by her family and friends. However, she led a full life, together with the love of her life, Robert “Bob” Boehm. Bob was her whole world; therefore, it should not be surprising Shirley passed less than three months after he went to be with his Heavenly Father.

Shirley was Bob’s life partner in every way, and they loved traveling the globe together for business, pleasure, and even to spread the gospel. Everyone that knew Shirley would comment about what a spirited, determined, and independent woman she was. She would fill up a room as soon as she walked in it.

Known as “Nan” to most of her 13 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren, she loved to spoil them with tea parties while they were young, and cooking lessons as they grew older.

A social butterfly, Shirley cherished the communities of good friends from her church, the Red Hat Society, and countless neighbors. Her ability to make friends easily as she moved around the country multiple times, accompanying her entrepreneur husband, establishing new homes for their family of seven, and living life together to their fullest.

Shirley was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Robert “Bob” Boehm; her parents, her son, Michael Scott Boehm; brothers Ronald and Donald Huffman; sisters Wilma Robinson, Bettye Jane Huffman Mantooth, and Arlene “Carole” Huffman.  She is survived by children, Robert Kenneth Boehm, Jr., of Carsonville, Mich.; Mark Alan Boehm of Strafford, Mo; Brenda Annette Boehm of Allen, Texas; and Christopher Paul Boehm of St. Paul, Texas. She is also survived by 13 grandchildren: Naomi Boehm, Iris Boehm, Josh Boehm, Chris Cantrell, Levi Boehm, Kaci Cantrell, Jessica Boehm, Rachel Mclaughlin, Marlena Boehm, Robert Adams, Christopher Boehm II, Ashley Boehm Hooper, and Michael Boehm, Jr.; along with 14 great-grandchildren: Aaliyah Boehm, Dominic Boehm, Noah Boehm, Dusty Jordan “DJ” Rhymer, Aza Armstrong, Aurora Hall, Corbin Mclaughlin, Declan Mclaughlin, Avalon Cantrell, Keaton Cantrell, Poppy Cantrell, Nola Cantrell, Knightly Hooper, Ryker Hooper and many nephews and nieces.

On May 29, 2022, there will be a celebration of both Shirley and Bob Boehm at the Crescent Hotel in Eureka Springs, Ark. It was a special location for them since they were married in Eureka Springs, and later went back to own and live at the Crescent. Please contact the family if you would like more details at boehmgenealogy@gmail.com
