Having been the recipient of the kindness of strangers at a time of dire need, I pay special attention to stories of kindness and paying it forward and here is one: Good Shepherd Humane Society recently procured a donation of 19,000 lbs. of dog and cat food from the Merrick Pet Care company.
Rather than keep it all, the shelter shared the goodies with other local animal rescue groups, including Unconditional Love Pet Rescue (dogs) and TenderHeart Wildlife Rehab (possums, squirrels, raccoons, etc.– they go through a lot of cat food!)
