Raymond Lee Hess, 81, (AKA Mr. Charming, AKA Mr. Wonderful, AKA Pee Wee) passed from this life on January 9, 2022. Raymond was born on March 30, 1940, in Grand Rapids, Mich. After overseas service in the United States Army, he moved to New Orleans where he was a practicing attorney for more than 20 years.
Raymond spent his retirement years in the Eureka Springs area. During those years he captained Mad Max on Beaver Lake, hosted Epic Super Bowl Parties, and was a founding member of the ROMEOs (retired old men eating out).
He was a lover of learning, hugger of waitstaff, and trainer of restaurant staff (to prepare his meals). In his later years at Duct Tape Manor, he was given the title of Captain Breakfast, maker of fine pancakes.
Most important, he had the ability to laugh at himself.
Raymond will be sorely missed and will always have a home in our hearts.
The loves Ray left behind include wife, Victoria Marshall; son, Thaddeus Hess (Jennifer); grandchildren, Benjamin and Christopher Hess; sister, Barbara Piotrowski (Jerome); brother, Michael W. Hess. (Brenda).
