Prepare to Meet Your Maker

As soon as the Thanksgiving dishes go into the dishwasher, some people head off to fight the crowds for questionable bargains. This year local artists provide a clear alternative at the Indie Art and Craft Fair where a good selection of affordably priced original gifts will be displayed.

“Meet Your Maker” shoppers will be met by Valerie Hubbard-Damon, Julie Kahn Valentine and Marvin Jonason, and greeted with SheYodi’s pottery and gifts, Fiona Lavin-Wilson’s blown glass, Julie Hop’s watercolors, Chon Stanley jewelry, Donna Doss ceramics and Eureka Janet’s jewelry, all on holiday sale.

In keeping with Main Stage’s mission of encouraging young artists, Maggie Asmus, who received acclaim for her costumes for Willo Mancifoot, the Musical, will offer a variety of craft items. Other young creators will also participate.

Main Stage Creative Community Center, at 67 N. Main will host “Meet Your Maker” from noon – 8 p.m. on Black Friday, Nov. 23, and noon to 6 p.m. on Saturday. There is a reception on Friday at 5, you don’t want to miss that.

In addition to giving the community unique gift choices, 30 percent of proceeds are donated to Main Stage, which supports youth and adult theater while providing resources to local artists.
