Editor,
In our continuing effort to make Eureka Springs become a shining example of a compassionate, kind and ecological small town, I suggest we do something about the plethora of plastic.
Now, I know we have a good recycling department here, but some plastics cannot be recycled. Have you seen the photographs and TV footage of how much of our precious ocean is clogged up with plastic? Plastic everywhere!
We can do something about this. We can use a basket to shop and put our groceries straight into it instead of using plastic, then transferring the supplies, then throwing away this insidious stuff.
We can politely ask our grocers to stop using plastic. This would be a good PR campaign for our grocers to show their commitment to a cleaner environment and to save our ocean. Please think about it.
