On Friday, June 21, 2019, Patricia Ann Schaller of Eureka Springs had a heart attack and died at 70 years of age. Pat was born to Winfred and Pauline Schaller on January 27, 1949 in Gresham, Neb. In 1972, she obtained her nursing license and worked as a nurse for over a decade. In 1976, she married Rev. Philip Schwerin, currently of Russellville, Ark. She raised five kids during their marriage of 29 years.

She is survived by her children, Andrew (& Madeleine) Schwerin of Eureka Springs, Adam (& Barbara) Schwerin of Seattle, Matthew (& Amanda) Schwerin of Dallas, Rachel (& Peter) Strackbein of Eureka Springs, and Heidi (& Ben) Kreuter of Minneapolis; and her siblings Dan (& Debby) Schaller of Rapid City, S.D., and John Schaller, Susan Schaller, and Kathryn(& Dave) Johnson all of Idaho. Pat has 13 grandkids and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Philip Schaller.

She liked playing bridge, Scrabble, and many other games to keep her mind active. Grandchildren were a highlight of her life; she loved to keep a garden, and she read the Bible every day. She wrote and self-published a K-8 spelling series, and an autobiographical book. No matter the weight of the day, she could always laugh.

Funeral service is 10 a.m. Thursday, June 27 at Grace Lutheran Church in Holiday Island, with burial and meal following. Pat requested that flowers be given to living people. Per her request, monies exceeding funeral expenses will be donated to the Voice of the Martyrs organization.
