Editor,
I am now 80 years old, older than dirt. Now, I love dirt since I am a happy tree-hugger and appreciate the dirt that grows flowers and gardens.
I have seen all kinds of political chicanery: the racist Dixiecrats in my birth state of Mississippi; the trickle-down nonsense of Reagan; the lies and war of G. W. Bush; and now, the overthrow of the American federal system by Cheetolini (remember, I call him that because his hair was orange before his adviser told him to tone it down and he struts, patterning himself after the dictator and fascist Mussolini).
Cheetolini and his boss and banker, Russian President Putin, stole the election! Our “President” is doing everything he can get away with to obstruct justice: firing Comey, tweeting ignorant and vile lies, threatening to fire anyone who would really investigate the Russian interference in the presidential election, and supporting his minions in the Congress who have recently come up with another dirty deed. He does nothing constructive or helpful for those who voted for him.
Republican Senators Grassley and Graham are requesting that the FBI send them all their evidence in the investigation about Russian involvement in our election. Obviously, this is to discredit the FBI and then “leak” the data to right-wing media. The elected Republicans are not doing their jobs to uphold the Constitution – upholding the Constitution would interfere with their power and pockets.
Our senators, Boozman and Cotton, have sold out their integrity to a president who is a liar, a misogynist, a bully and a little rich boy who throws temper tantrums. Our senators do not represent the best interests of Arkansans. This is a very bad omen for our state’s and country’s future.
We need a revived, progressive Democratic Party in our state that will listen to us and help us right this awful wrong that elected a truly awful man to the highest office in our country.
When will this travesty end?
