Just wondering if anyone noticed that while they were ripping babies out of the arms of their mothers, and Melania was making her fashion statement, Republicans proposed a bill called, and yes this is true, “A Brighter American Future. ”
Its aim? To cut billions from Medicare and Social Security (programs Trump promised he would never touch) to pay for the trillion-dollar deficit brought on by the GOP’s tax cuts that benefit the top 2 percent.
That 8-buck-a-week raise in your paycheck might not look so good when you lose your healthcare or your premiums skyrocket. Everyone knew someone was going to have to pay, but to go after these “entitlements,” and make the sick and elderly cough out so the rich can buy yet another summer home, is obscene.
One solution – we can vote out our own congressman, Steve Womack, who chairs the House Budget Committee and who is partly responsible for these outrages.
