Nora J. Lewis, 95, transitioned from her earthly form to Heaven on Wednesday, Jan. 23, 2022, at home in Youngtown, Ariz., with family present.
Nora was born in St. Clair County, Michigan, at Lambs Corner, on August 21, 1926. She resided most of her life in Flint, Mich., moving to the Phoenix area in 1987 after 22 years with the USPS, retiring with the distinction of Flint’s first female letter carrier.
Nora lost the love of her life, Harold (Bob), in 2003 after 56 years of marriage. Journaling, writing poetry and completing crossword puzzles were lifelong obsessions. She was an avid bowler until age 90 and took her first tandem jump from a plane at 80, above the island of Hawaii.
Along with Bob and others she was a charter member of Sun City Church of the Nazarene. Her memorial service will be held there, date to be determined.
Surviving are her four children: sons Robert (Phyllis), Nixa, Mo.; Daniel (Deborah), Eureka Springs, Ark.; daughters Cynthia McNeven, Sun City, Ariz.; Debra Faye (Les) Conger, Roscommon, Mich.; six grandchildren: Mariah, Roy, Terra, Chad, Caesar and Sicily, with special mention of Ray, deceased; seven great-grandchildren, nieces & nephews.
