Mary Bohannan, a resident of Eureka Springs, Ark., was born October 15, 1939, in the Rock House community Madison County, Ark., daughter to Claude and Nana Faye (Patton) Sisco. She departed this life, Tuesday Nov. 16, 2021, in Eureka Springs at age 82.

On August 28, 1958, Mary married her partner and soulmate Elmer Bohannan. Mary was a hardworking, good hearted, loving soul. She loved her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren immensely and fiercely.

She would graciously help anyone down on their luck, pamper them with a marvelous meal, treat them to their favorite pie and send them on their way with a full belly and Merle Haggard tune on their heart. Her motto was “I’ll treat you so many ways you’re bound to like one of them.”

She is survived by her children Danny Bohannan and wife, Penny, of Quitman, Ark; Debbie (Bohannan) Pouncey and husband, Steve, of Eureka Springs; Diane Kremer of Broomfield, Colo., Joan Schlidt of Hudson, Colo.; grandchildren Chris Harris and wife, Sophie; Jessica Gilmore, and husband, David; Dakota Pouncey, Madeline Dierling and Matt; Katherine Hall and Josh; Alexandra Workman and Zack; Dakota Bohannan and wife, Emily; Brooke Hill, Brandy Smith and Bryon; great-grandchildren Noah and Emma Gilmore, Skylar and Peyton Harris, Malishia and McAlister Dierling, Renna and Calin Hall, Cayley and Blake Hill, Bailey, Bella and Briley Smith, baby Workman 2022, along with other family members and friends.

Mary is preceded in death by her parents Claude and Faye Sisco; husband. Elmer Bohannan; daughter Clethia Harris; sisters Jo Ray, Joan Sharp, and brother James Sisco.

Funeral service was Nov. 27, 2021, at Nelson’s Chapel of the Springs with Pastor Jim Maloney officiating. Interment followed at Rock House Cemetery.
