Major Steven Matthew Judge of Eureka Springs, Ark., was born in Chicago, Ill., to Howarth and Pauline (Buckley) Judge. Major passed away Nov. 22, 2021, in Eureka Springs, Ark., at age 63.
Major enjoyed attending his morning coffee club and Thursday evening dinner club. He especially enjoyed spending time with his Army buddies, Lt. Col. Ted Lockwood (Ret.) and Lt. Col Colonel Tim Horton (Ret.), both of the US Army, with whom he served in Iraq and Germany.
Major attend the ROTC and was very proud of his 34 years in Army. He followed family tradition by starting his military carrier in the Navy. Major also earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Business at the University of Carbondale in Illinois.
Major is survived by siblings Maureen Ott and husband, Peter, of Hudson, Fla.; John Judge “Jack” of Leadville, Colo.; Kathleen Judge-Ohmart of Pittsburg, Mo.; Pat Marciniec and husband, Matt, of Plainfield, Ill.; nieces and nephews Jonathan Ott, Monique Ziegler and husband, Eric; John Judge, Jr.; Gabriel Ohmart and wife, Christina; Francis Ohmart; and Erin Nelson and husband, Chris; seven great-nieces and two great-nephews and a host of family and friends who will miss him greatly.
He is preceded by his parents Howarth and Pauline Judge and nephew, Thomas Marciniec.
A Gathering of Remembrance will be 2 to 4 p.m., Wednesday, Dec. 8, 2021, at Gotahold Brewing, 409 W. Van Buren, Eureka Springs, AR 72632.
A Memorial Service will be scheduled at the Judge family plot at Resurrection Cemetery in Justice, Ill., at a later date.
