I truly loved the cartoon by Wolf Grulkey in last week’s Independent. I mounted it on bright red mat board and gave it to the local barber who is one of about a half dozen other Democrats in this town of more than 3000 right-wing Trump followers. He put it on his wall and said, “Some people drive forty two miles just so they won’t have to get their hair cut by a Democrat.”
Although I was born and raised here in Nocona, I miss Eureka Springs more and more all the time. I did not realize how wonderful it was to live in a place where I could be who I really am and say whatever I pleased.
I really miss Eureka Springs!
