An old school American band honed to perfection in Austin’s historied music scene brings country funk to Chelseas’s this weekend. Doug Strahan and The Good Neighbors are hard to define – a critic in Saving Country Music was impressed by their ability to “resurrect that heroine sweat sound of the 70s” as they strive to bring back those feelings that our favorite ‘70s bands evoked. It’s been said that Strahan’s infectious charm has to be experienced in person, and you have that opportunity at Chelsea’s, slightly off center at 10 Mountain St. Good grooves commence at 9:30 Friday night.
On Saturday, Chelsea’s will move on up to the ‘90s when Lou Dog, the awesome Sublime tribute band out of Fayetteville, pays homage to the Ska-Rock kings. Move to reggae and punk rock at 9:30 p.m. and wish a much-loved mother-daughter duo a happy double birthday!
