Jerry Lee “Jerdoggie” Jett Feb. 4, 1953 – Nov. 1, 2022

On Nov. 1, 2022, surrounded by the love of his wife, Sarah, and their dogs, Jerry Lee “Jerdoggie” Jett of Eureka Springs, Ark., slipped his earthly bonds and surfed his last wave into an ocean of everlasting light. Born Feb. 4, 1953, in Downey, Calif., he grew up with Disney Land in his backyard and the ocean as his playground.

Always unconventional, he loved surfing, mountain biking, fly fishing, growing plants, racing his ’68 Porsche 912, arguing, and practical jokes. Jerry and Sarah traveled extensively pursuing surf, trails, and trout from the United States to Costa Rica.

Jerry’s early adulthood was spent working as a journeyman carpenter, until a back injury sent him to pursue his Graphic Arts degree. Ever the entrepreneur, he ultimately purchased his own graphic laser and created surfboard fins and souvenir items which have sold in several states. Long after Jerry is gone, his beautifully crafted work will endure as mementos of other folks’ happy times.

He loved playing with his grandkids and spent hours dancing, biking, and playing games with them. Jerry’s memory and spirit will live on in each sparkling, dancing wave, on the sun dappled biking trails of Arkansas, and the glittering trout waters of the west. He is ever present in granddaughter Amelia’s pert grin, Andrea’s athleticism, and Adelyn’s blue eyes. Jerry will remain in the hearts of those who knew him best and be sorely missed by his family and friends.

Preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Suzie Jett and brother, Larry Jett. He is survived by his wife of 23 years, Sarah, daughter Julianna (Nathan), stepsons and stepdaughters, Michele Halvorson (Larry), M. Jason Cloud (Rebekah), Kasye Moss (Oliver John), Billy Dodson, Jessica Dodson, and Joshua Dodson (Kristi), plus three granddaughters, 15 step granddaughters and grandsons, and several step great-grandchildren.

No services are scheduled at this time.

Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Cremations Only, Springdale, Arkansas.
