Jeffrey Max Filbeck, 63, of Holiday Island, Ark., formerly of Liberty, Mo. passed away peacefully on Jan. 1, 2021 with his wife Kim, his brother Ron and his dogs LuLu, Bud, Rosie and Tilly by his side.
Jeff is survived by his wife Kim of the home, sons Thomas Filbeck and wife, Julie; Jason Filbeck and wife, Miranda; Chris Brashear; daughter Kassy Reyes and husband, Chad; 10 grandchildren Asher, Elias, Isabel, Ayla, Tyson, Mia, Kamilla, Bronson, Jaiden and Camden; brother Ron Filbeck and wife, Tina; two sisters Missy Lewis and husband, Scott; Jeannine Crabtree; several nieces and nephews; along with many other family members and friends.
Jeff is preceded in death by his parents Max and Wanda Gene (Rhodes) Filbeck.
Jeff retired from AT&T after 30 years of service making many friends of coworkers and contractors. His love of fireworks led him to become an ATF licensed Pyrotechnician. He worked several major fireworks displays in the Kansas City area.
Jeff was a fun-loving happy-go-lucky guy. He was a loyal KC Chiefs fan, holding season tickets since 1987. Jeff enjoyed float trips, fireworks, old rock music and blues, and truly mastered the art of barbeque. His favorite hobby was flintknapping and he so enjoyed friendships with many knapping buddies. Jeff so loved his kids, and was so proud of each one of them.
He was a member of the Holiday Island Elks.
An outdoor celebration of Jeff’s life will be held in late spring. There are not enough words of gratitude to express our thanks to Jeff’s hospice nurse, Everett, for his care and kindness with Jeff’s transition. Memorial donations may be made to Happy Valley Dog Rescue, 10116 Hwy. 21 South, Berryville, AR 72616.
