Janice Marie Leahy passed away on Wednesday, July 24, 2024, at age 64. Janice was loved deeply by so many. Those who knew her best knew she was a rare mixture of strength and tenderness, somehow both tenacious and strong willed, but also so sentimental and passionate. Janice was wonderfully creative—always turning ordinary things into beautiful ones.

Born in Paw Paw, Mich., Janice grew up with her three siblings and spent her childhood making friendships that would last a lifetime. After high school, Janice ventured to Tucson, Ariz., where she eventually met and married her husband, Michael, and had her daughter, Sarah.

\The family traveled the nation and eventually settled in Eureka Springs, Ark., but regardless of where they were living at any given time, Janice was sure to make every place feel like home. Because of her, the Leahy home was always a cozy gathering spot for neighbors, friends, and relatives. Janice believed in art, sunbathing, fresh flowers, small indulgences, and making sure special days and milestones were always celebrated well. She will be hugely missed by her daughter, granddaughter, and so many family and friends.

Janice was preceded in death by her husband, Michael Leahy; her parents, William Kaiser and Emma Boone; her brother, Carl Kaiser; and sister, Kimberly Plug. She is survived by her daughter, Sarah Curl; son-in-law, Jeff Curl; granddaughter, Leah Curl; sister, Karen Ward; 11 brothers- and sisters-in law; 11 nieces and nephews, and 21 great nieces and nephews.
