During the Biden administration, Republican Senator James Lankford from Oklahoma worked through bipartisan legislation to fix the immigration crisis. Then candidate Donald J. Trump issued orders from Mar-a-Lago insisting that the Republican Congress shut down Lankford’s effort to fix the problem. The Republicans brought the bipartisan effort to a halt.
Trump wanted immigration to be his main issue in the upcoming presidential election. Trump got what he wanted — problems rather than solutions — and we’ve seen the disastrous effect with good people senselessly killed and children ripped away from their parents and grandparents and incarcerated at the border.
We need a president that cares for people, whether they are citizens of not. Trump cares only for his power and his survival against being held accountable for molesting teens and countless accusations of fraud. We also need to see him clearly as the man he is. Nothing thoughtful, glorious or brave. He is a depraved liar and unfit to serve the American people.
