“I scream, you scream, we all scream” … the end of that line used to be “for ice cream.” But these days we just seem to hear a lot of screaming. So, it’s high time to socialize as community around the traditional sweet treat, let it dribble down our chins, and just be nice to one another.
The perfect time to do it is Friday and Saturday, June 13 – 14, at the annual Ice Cream Social on the Berryville Square. There’s a 5K Fun Run race beginning at 9 a.m. Saturday for Grandma’s House, and the Vendor Fair booths and food trucks (close to 60 all told) will be onsite from 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. Friday and 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. on Saturday.
There’s a fun slate of entertainment on the Gazebo Stage beginning Friday at 10 a.m. featuring the Berryville School Band followed by the Highway 13 Band at noon, Scott Widder of Everything But Fiddle Music Lessons from 4 – 5 p.m., the Redbird Band from 5 – 6, and the KTHS Dance Party from 6 – 8 p.m. Remember the twist? Get one in a cone or do it on the dance floor!
Entertainment on Saturday begins with the Bookworms at 10 a.m. followed by Rick McEwen of The Gambler show in Branson from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m., and the Lori Locke Band takes the stage from 1 – 4 p.m.
Also around town on June 14: Catfish Corndogs and Cornhole at Mercy Hospital, Benefit Ragball Tournament at A.L. Carter Baseball Fields, and a Fishing Derby at George’s Pond. See berryvillechamber.com and click on Ice Cream Social for times and map.
