Editor,
The White Street Halloween Candy Bank is officially closed for another year, and generosity reached new heights! Donations totaled over 550 pounds of candy, which is 100 pounds over last year! There were also large amounts of toys donated which were a huge hit.
The weather was chilly, but not everyone’s spirits. Over a thousand little goblins and their families were out having a great time and were incredibly gracious. The effort they put into their costumes was astounding.
The Candy Bank had roughly 25 pounds left over, and we will pass it on to charities to throw from floats in the Christmas parade.
Our biggest thanks to our neighbors all over town for supporting the Bank’s efforts to make sure everybody gets to play, and to the kids of all ages who proved that a little bad weather cannot cool their spirit.
See you again next year!
