The Eureka Springs Hospital Commission met at the ECHO clinic for a very short meeting with three commissioners present and one on the phone.  Absent were Chair John House, Christopher Baranyk and Mark Tozzio.

Chair pro-tem Michael Merry informed commissioners that for personal reasons, Tozzio has turned in his resignation effective immediately; the commission approved that resignation.

Treasurer Barbara Dicks said that the Certificates of Deposit are earning well with Cornerstone Bank, growing from $3.37 million to $3.39 million from April to May.

The commission approved Dick’s request to approve payment of attorneys’ fees of $833.

Merry then asked the present hospital staff of the status of the finance and administration, to which staff said the consensus was good and stable, vendors are slowly receiving payment, and the two-year outstanding Medicare recoupment is now paid off.

Chief Executive Officer Vicki Andert said the hospital Chief Financial Officer has resigned effective the first of June, and the Revenue Cycle Director/Medical Records Director has also resigned. It was unclear if Allegiance, the organization contracted to operate the hospital, is planning to fill the positions.

Andert also stated as of May 31 her position as CEO will be changing to Chief Nursing Officer.

The next regular meeting is scheduled for Monday, June 17 at 6 p.m.
