Holly House LTD, an assisted living facility with a total licensed capacity of 22 beds, closed on March 11. The facility surrounded by woods at 100 Ridgeview Rd., behind the Eureka Springs Brewery off US 62, was well regarded in the community.

“They did a terrific job,” one source said. “It will be a huge loss for Eureka and Carroll County.”

Holly House Owner Kathy Clark said she sold the facility that has been in operation since 2010 because she is retiring.

“It has been a work of love,” Clark said. “We have thoroughly enjoyed it and we received so much benefit from the residents and the families. We have had the best employees and residents. It is a beautiful place with all kinds of wild animals. And there was no noise from the highway.”

Clark said she doesn’t have any idea what the new owners plan to do with the facility.

Gavin Lesnick, spokesman for the Arkansas Department of Human Services, said DHS spoke with this facility on March 2, and the facility indicated they had recently decided to close effective March 11.

“They submitted closure information and their list of remaining clients and transfer locations to DHS on March 3, which is within the required regulations,” Lesnick said. “There were eleven clients at the time they opted to close.”

According to Dun and Bradstreet, Holly House Ltd. had 16 employees and annual sales of $630,534.
