FAYETTEVILLE – After a couple of quieter weeks on the football recruiting front, Chad Morris and his staff will welcome a few of their top targets to campus for official visits this weekend. While there could be as many as five total visitors, four have been confirmed and they’re all from the state of Texas.

The group is highlighted by Athens (Texas) four-star offensive lineman Garrett Hayes, the nation’s No. 112 overall prospect according to 247Sports

Hayes, 6-5, 280, has been high on Arkansas’ wish list for well over a year. He’s made multiple unofficial trips to campus during that time, including most recently for the Razorbacks’ major prospect day on March 9.

Hayes, who is being recruited by offensive line coach Dustin Fry and Arkansas’ lead recruiter in east Texas, running backs coach Jeff Traylor, has an offer list that includes Texas A&M, Florida State, Nebraska, Oklahoma, Oregon, TCU and several others. While some national and regional recruiting writers predict Arkansas to land him in the end, the junior isn’t expected to make his college decision anytime soon.

Another four-star target from Texas who will be in town this weekend is cornerback Jahari Rogers of Arlington High.

Rogers is the nation’s No. 141 overall prospect and the No. 11 player at his position, according to 247Sports, and holds offers from the likes of Florida, LSU, Miami, Oklahoma, TCU, Texas, Notre Dame and dozens of others.

The 6-0, 170-pound defensive back has held his offer from the Hogs since last October when his list consisted of only Baylor and Louisiana Tech. Arkansas cornerbacks’ coach Mark Smith is leading the charge to land Rogers, which might be a difficult task since he’s emerged as a national-type prospect over the last few months.

The third Texan on this week’s visit list is McKinney North tight end Brandon Frazier, who was in Fayetteville for an unofficial visit on March 9 and has made a few other trips to campus over the last 12 months.

Frazier, 6-7, 230, enters the weekend with Arkansas in his top eight along with Auburn, Baylor, Iowa State, Nebraska, TCU, Texas Tech and Vanderbilt. He is being recruited by tight ends’ coach Barry Lunney, Jr., who already has a 2020 tight end pledge in Allen Horace of Crockett (Texas).

Lunney and the Razorbacks plan to sign two high school tight ends in this year’s class, and then bring in another veteran tight end by way of transfer. Frazier will be on Commitment Watch this weekend.

Marshall (Texas) wide receiver Savion Williams is the most recent addition to this week’s list of expected visitors.

Williams, 6-4, 195, was also on campus for the Hogs’ March 9 prospect day, and has held his Arkansas offer since Sept. 7, 2018. The big wideout also has offers from Baylor, TCU, Kansas State, Texas Tech and others, and is being recruited to Arkansas by wide receivers coach Justin Stepp.

The Razorbacks already have two wide receiver commitments for the 2020 cycle in four-star Ze’Vian Capers of Cumming (Ga.) Denmark and Mason Mangum of Austin (Texas) Westlake.  Capers, however, took an official visit at South Carolina last weekend and hasn’t completely shut the door on his recruitment.

Arkansas’ potential fifth official visitor this week is another four-star offensive lineman in Chris Morris of Memphis (Tenn.) Central. Morris, 6-3, 300, has visited Arkansas more than any other school to this point of his recruiting timeline. He is the No. 79 overall prospect in the nation, per the 247Sports Composite rankings, and has offers from Alabama, Georgia, Texas A&M, Tennessee and many others.
