Thieves have stolen the old school bell that hung at Old Main School in Salem, Ark. After the story aired on KY3 in Springfield, Roger Meyers at the Thayer Plant Food Co. called and expressed displeasure that anyone would steal such an historic item, and personally offered a $500 reward for information leading toward the recovery of this bell. Last week Salem graduate (class of ‘66) Dale Reynolds, now living at Nixa, Mo., sent a $500 check to be added toward the reward.
If anyone has information that might lead to the recovery of the bell, and/or to the apprehension of those responsible, please contact the Fulton County sheriff’s office (870) 895-2601. The bell is part of the history of Old Main.
