HI Zoning regs get spruced up

Holiday Island Planning Commission met on Tuesday, April 12 with only two items on the agenda.

In January, city council had established in first reading a Board of Adjustment through city ordinance through Ord. 2022-002 which included Zoning Regulations. Council had been advised, though, that with city ordinances not being codified that the zoning regulations should not be formatted as city code.

The Planning Commission passed resolution HICPC R22-004 adopting amended and reformatted text to zoning regulations. It also recommends a new ordinance to council to repeal Ord. 2022-002 and then readopt regulations under the new formatting.

The Planning Commission passed Resolution HICPC R22-003 repealing HICPC R21-002 (which established commission meeting times) and amended the time to 1 p.m. on the second Tuesday of the month. The commission’s meetings were originally scheduled for 3 p.m. but only three of twelve meetings had occurred at that time, and most had happened earlier in the day. It passed unanimously.
