HDC zips through approvals

Nicky Boyette – Only one application came before the Historic District Commission for discussion at its July 6 meeting, and commissioners approved a Certificate of Appropriateness for replacing metal windows and storm doors at 145 Mill Hollow Rd.

These items on the Consent Agenda were approved:

  • 33-35 Spring – new paint colors
  • 60 Mountain – new paint colors
  • 7 Center – new paint colors
  • 60 Hillside – enclose area under porch; previously approved
  • 68 Mountain – new sign
  • 8 Washington – rear parking area; already approved

Consent Agenda items are Level I applications that the City Preservation Officer believes to be in accordance with the Design Guidelines. Commissioner Doug Breitling recused himself from the vote on 60 Hillside since it was his property.

Chair Dee Bright presented these Administrative Approvals, which are applications for repair or work involving no changes in materials or color but which include applications for changes in roofing color.

  • 80 Spring – clean building; re-stain trim; repair windows
  • 18 White – repaint
  • 11 Harvey – re-roof
  • 39 Mountain – re-paint
  • 5 Steele – re-roof
