Hello all, what a great week of fishing! Everywhere around except for the White River, we had a tuff time on the White this week. Or I did, anyway. I could not get a limit for my guys in three days’ worth of fishing, but fun was had. You could not help to have fun with the weather that we have had. We did not get skunked but it was slow. Yet fish were caught by all.

A lot were caught in the slot limit, which is a good thing because those are going to be bigger in the future. But for those trying to harvest, it was tough.

Two of the three trips I had this week were just looking for a couple of fish to add to steak dinner that evening, and they did two that were more than 16 inches.

On the White River there is a slot limit – you cannot keep the fish if they are between 13 and 16 inches. Your limit is five fish under 13 inches or four that are 13 inches, and only one over 16 inches, for a total of five.

Lots of people who stay around here will fish the White River in the morning if and when the water is not running, then take a short drive to Missouri to go into Roaring River, just north of us. It’s a nice place to visit and a short day drive, and the hatchery is there.

Today’s picture is of Harvey, one of the nicest young men I have had in my boat in a long time. Very aware of his surroundings and very good at fishing for being so young. The blue eyes were a bonus.

They were having a family reunion at Spider Creek Resort. Jonathan and Jordan are repeat customers at the resort, and also with me, so they brought the whole gang this time. Great group of people.

I’m heading to the Kings River this week. I’m getting reports of good fishing over there, fish have awakened. Top water action is happening hard and fast. Whether you’re flyfishing or spinning, it is good.

Catfish are all over, also, in both lakes and rivers. Basically, fishing is good everywhere if you can beat the heat.

Beaver Lake was busy with fun this week. Glad the weekend is over, and am heading out there this week, also. Hoping for good pictures next week between the Kings River and Beaver Lake.
