The striper bite is back on, according to Hooked On Fishing guide service. Captain Juan took out returning clients Thomas and his uncle, great time like always and they got enough fish for a good fish fry.
250 Tagged Striped Bass in Beaver Lake
The tag reward study is underway on Striped Bass in Beaver Lake. Staff spent 7 nights on Beaver Lake and tagged 250 Striped Bass and each tag has a number to call. If you want to release the fish, just cut the tags off of the fish and return the fish to the water. When you call the number on the tags and answer a few questions, we will give you an address to mail in the tag. Once we get the tag and data, you will receive $100.
The reason for the high reward is that we are tagging a low number of fish and want all of the caught fish with tags returned.
Biologists have finished Beaver Lake and will move to Norfork next. Good luck fishing this spring and keep an eye out for a tagged Striped Bass. Another thing to look forward to on Beaver Lake this weekend is a free Crappie fishing tournament, Beaver Lake, Big Hickory, Saturday March 26.
