The Dick family from Kansas has been fishing Beaver Lake on Father’s Day weekend for 3 years. The family looks up Patrick Forseth, owner of Ozark Fishing Guides, every year.
In two days of fishing, the four generations caught 18 stripers. Grandpa Norman Dick hooked up with the big fish that got him in the 30# club. Anyone who catches a 30# or bigger fish gets a custom ring in a wood display box. Each ring is poured for the angler to their ring size. They started this club in late April, and this is ring Number 3. Patrick and his crew like to keep it interesting and surprising.
For the month of July, Patrick is running a special on trips for single parents, $75 off a fishing trip! He add that he raised his children, Kendyl and Lincoln, alone until he met amazing, beautiful Hannah Grace Forseth last year.

The Corps of Engineers opened the sluice gate on the dam to cool the river down for the trout. Water at the level of the sluice gate is cooler and pushes cool water and more dissolved oxygen to the trout.
One guide on the White River said that the fish are loving it. They really like high water, it provides extra food, foliage and places to hide.
We catch our biggest browns in high water. Change up your techniques – if you’re in a boat you’ll want to do some trolling with deep diving crankbaits in patterns that look like a shad or a crawdad in areas where there is no debris on the water. Drifting with bait also works well.
If you’re bank fishing and they are running water, add extra weight and a little extra bait. Power Bait, white and sunrise, add some nightcrawler, shrimp, minnows, or crawdads.
