I’m sending out warming greetings. Last week was bitter. I have something to tell you about that everybody should look forward to this week: The weather is going to be better. So get out and enjoy hundreds of tagged rainbow trout that have been stocked in the Family and Community Fishing Program ponds.

Any angler who turns in a tag will win a prize. Lucky anglers will be drawn for three guided fishing trips for four on the Little Red, courtesy of Sore Lip’em All Guide Services.

The grand prize will be a half-day guided fishing trip on the White River for up to 6 anglers, including a fish fry dinner on the river and a one-night stay at a lodge courtesy of White River Family Fishing of Arkansas and the Arkansas Game & Fish Foundation. The live drawing will be on the AGFC’s Facebook page at 10 a.m. on March 14, 2024.

Catch a tagged fish? Mail the tag along with your name, address, telephone number, and where the fish was caught to: Family and Community Fishing Program, Arkansas Game & Fish Commission, 2 Natural Resources Drive, Little Rock, AR 72205. Tag returns must be postmarked by Feb. 29, 2024, one entry per person.

AG&F will host Trout Day from 9 a.m. to noon, Saturday, Jan. 27, at Murphy Park in Springdale. Catch rainbow trout and win prizes at the event. Anglers will be available to help people catch fish.

There will be a trout cooking demonstration and free lunch after fishing. Registration is required. Register at agfc.com or call (833) 356-0847 for registration information.

AG&F’s Family and Community Fishing Program is releasing hundreds of rainbow trout in program ponds throughout the state. Area lakes and ponds stocked with trout are Lake Atalanta in Rogers, Lake Springdale and Murphy Park pond in Springdale, Lake Bentonville, and Wells Lake in Fort Smith.

Beaver Lake stripers have been pretty good, but they’re moving every day.

Topwater action can happen any day we’re out there. It doesn’t matter if it’s April or January, give us a call we can get you on the fish.  Custom Adventures Guide Service (479) 244-5259.
