Fishing continues to be very good whether you’re on the lake, or the river, farm ponds or creeks.

The smallmouth bass shown here was caught by Brant Barnes of Fayetteville throwing hair jigs with Yamamoto split tail trailer.

Cooler temperatures are making it better for fishing and anglers. I’ve had people who booked trips when they knew it was gonna rain and they still wanted to go.  One was a father and daughter, she was about nine, and we asked her do you still want to go? She said yes and her father just rolled his eyes and was like OK.

Beaver Lake stripers are the fish they’re talking about. If you get up early and have some good bait, you should catch stripers. The key is to get out there early. Have your line in the water before the sun comes up, but the morning bite only lasts about three hours. There’s still some topwater action, you’ve just got to find them.

Bass are being caught at night, just after nightfall ‘til they quit biting.

Table Rock Lake has good fishing for walleye, white bass, and black bass. Recently, there have been a number of anglers bow fishing on Table Rock Lake for carp and drum.

The real playground is the Beaver Tailwaters below Beaver Dam. Trout are still just jumping in the boat, and when they’re not running water l hit the access areas that you can walk into, the first 4 miles of the river, and when water is not generating these trout are trapped and concentrated in certain holes. It makes it ridiculously easy.

Best thing to use on the trout are the Colorado spoon by Buoyant, or nightcrawlers and power bait (white and sunrise) hooked up on a Carolina rig.

If you need help, go to the Beaver Dam Store and they will answer questions and set you up on your way to catch fish, they’ve got you covered with knowledge and setups.
