The White River below Beaver Lake, also known as Beaver tailwaters, has some of the best fishing around this area right now. As you can see in this picture taken of the biggest fish of the day caught by Wes Lakin, at the First Walleye Fishing Tournament held by Riverview Resort. They offered up to 4th place prizes, plus biggest fish and small fish rewards.

1st Place went to Carl Caso and Ryan Chapman

2nd Place was husband and wife team, John and Sarah Massie

3rd place Wes Lakin and Gene Chapman, also Wes Lakin came out with biggest fish prize.

4th place Jackson Butt and Matt Sutton

Smallest fish went Chris King and Dakota Hulse

Congratulations, it was a great event. Some said it was a tough day but all in all, fish were caught. Great job to all.

My tip for the White River right now is say that you’re going fishing for walleye and you will catch trout.  Say that you want to go catch some trout and all you should catch is walleye. That how it happens, just as I wrote last week.

On Beaver Lake, catching crappie is great – moving into main arms and starting to stage up on brush adjacent to known spawning areas. There are not a lot of crappie anglers out yet with the chill (35° on Friday) still in the air.

LiveScope and search them out and using a variety of baits, mostly jigs, artificial and minnows. Stick to the main arms coming into Beaver Lake. Don’t be surprised if you catch catfish or walleye while trolling low speed with live minnow in about 12 – 18 ft.

I do want to mention that the winners of this tournament are both guides on the White River, look them up on Facebook for more great fish pictures. Ryan`s White River Guide Service is Ryan Chapman`s. And That Dam Guide Service is Carl Caso.
