Frank J. Clouser of Eureka Springs, Ark., was born on August 31, 1931 in Chicago, Ill., to Ralph and Anna (Faul) Clouser. He passed away on Saturday, June 20, 2020 at age 88. In Chicago, Frank married the love of his life, and raised two children, while working as a machinist for the city. During that time, he was a member of the IAM Union in Local 126.

He and his wife Sherry retired early to Eureka Springs, a place they fell in love with on their honeymoon.

In the early 1980s, Frank served as Fire Chief for the Grassy Knob Fire Department. He later went on to head the board of the fire department. He also participated as a member of the Elks Club.

Frank was an avid gardener and collector of antiques. Frank and Sherry’s passion for antiques eventually progressed into opening up their own shop, Honey Creek Antiques. They spent many years traveling and collecting things for the shop. Frank’s love of woodworking was evident in the beautiful pieces he restored.

Frank adored his family and had the pleasure of watching both grandchildren and great-grandchildren grow. He was blessed to have spent a big part of his life in a lovely home atop a bluff overlooking spectacular views of the lake and countryside he loved. He died in his home after years of filling it with the warmth of family and beautiful memories.

Frank is survived by his wife of 68 years, Sherry of Eureka Springs; son Timothy Clouser and wife, Michele, of Islamorada, Fla.; daughter Susan Clouser of Springdale, Ark.; grandchildren Jamie Illian, Chris McElhany, and Stefanie Jacks. Great-grandchildren Riley Harper, Kate & Miles Illian.

A celebration of Frank’s life will be held at a later date. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Nelson Funeral Service. Online condolences may be sent to the family at nelsonfuneral.com. © Nelson Funeral Service, Inc. 2020.
